Fall Arrest & PPE Inspections
PUWER inspections for harnesses, lanyards, self-retracting lifelines, anchor points and fall arrest systems.
LDN Inspection Services provides thorough inspections of fall arrest equipment and height safety PPE. Our qualified inspectors examine harnesses, lanyards, SRLs, anchor points and lifeline systems in accordance with EN 365 and PUWER, delivering clear digital reports for every item.
Fall Arrest Equipment Inspections
Fall arrest equipment is critical life-safety PPE that must be maintained in serviceable condition. Under PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998) and the Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations, employers must ensure that PPE is inspected at suitable intervals and maintained in good repair.
Fall arrest harnesses, lanyards and connecting devices are subjected to UV exposure, abrasion, chemical contamination, and mechanical wear. These factors can degrade textile webbing, corrode metallic components, and compromise the energy-absorbing function of shock absorbers, often without visible signs.
Our inspections cover all types of fall arrest and work positioning equipment, including harnesses, lanyards, self-retracting lifelines, fall arrest blocks, anchor points, horizontal lifeline systems and rescue equipment. Each item is individually inspected and recorded.
Key Requirements
- Periodic inspection at least every 12 months (industry standard)
- Inspection by a competent person per EN 365
- Immediate withdrawal after any fall arrest event
- Individual records for each item of equipment
- User pre-use checks required before every use
